Now, more than ever, we must protect our planet, our waters, and the world around us for future generations. At Mustang Survival, we know that we need to reduce our overall impact on our planet, and we are committed to being part of the solution.
One of our sustainability goals is using lower-impact materials; we have now introduced GAIA® foam options for most of our PFDs that previously used a PVC-based foam.
GAIA® foam is a nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) based closed-cell foam free from PVCs, CFCs, phthalates, and halogens (fluorine, chlorine, bromine, iodine, astatine) while still providing strong buoyancy performance and suppleness. Using this material allows us to remove PVC-based foams from our line without affecting the in-water performance and comfort of our PFDs. It also allows us to reduce our environmental impact during production.
We are in the early stages of developing our sustainability targets both as a company and within the life-saving industry. We feel strongly that this is one step in the right direction.
