Low quality with a high price
"I loved these bibs at first, but they did not hold up. They were not worth the money. The bibs lost their waterproofing within 8 months of light use, and the zipper started to fall apart shortly after that. One of my friends also bought these bibs, and hers lost water proofing in ~3 months of more consistent use. I estimate that I used mine about 15-20 times across the 8 months - mixed between dinghy and keel boat sailing, and at first they seemed great. Then on a rainy sailing day, they completely soaked through the seat in about 1 hour. I reached out to customer support, and their answer was that waterproofing isn't expected to last forever, that I hadn't taken care of the gear properly, and that I needed to DWR the pants. It was shocked that they seemed to have no issues with a pair of $400 bibs losing waterproofing in less than a year. I also do take good care of my gear (always washing it off after use in salt water, etc), and I've owned various brands of spray pants, none of which ever lost waterproofing this fast. Then a few months later, I noticed that a zipper tooth had cracked and fallen off, and after a few more uses, multiple teeth have now fallen off. The zipper now opens up and completely unzips when I move around the boat, making the bibs effectively unusable, and it's a fight to get the zipper back down to re-zip them. I've thought about getting the zipper replaced because the bibs were expensive, but given that I have to to re-DWR the bibs every few months to maintain any waterproofing, sinking more money into these already expensive pants just doesn't seem worth it. In the mean time, I've gone back to my 7 year old Helly Hanson bibs that have a patched rip in the seat and cost half the price, and they are working just as well as the 1. 5 year old Mustang bibs.
Overall, my experience with Mustang has been frustrating and disappointing, and I do not plan to buy Mustang gear again."

Great bib for sailing
"Great sailing bib with a cut that’s actually easy to move in! I’m usually skeptical of drop zips, had issues with other brands unzipping mid-racing, but these are solid and stay put, plus the waterproof zips are a great touch. LOVE the fleece-lined kangaroo pocket and the zip pouch on the chest. Only thing that would make these an 11/10 would be an extra pocket on the legs for quick-access gear. Otherwise, absolutely awesome bib for sailing."

Poor
"Runs small and arrived with defects and poor material quality. I don't think there would last more than a season on the field. As an expedition guide in polar regions, I do not recommend this product."

Great for Wet Coast adventures
"Love these pants - super comfortable and durable bibs. Great zippers. Properly waterproof. Reinforced knees are so good. Built to last!"

Great bibs
"These are sturdy, well made bibs. They are comfortable (I work as a guide and wear them every day), windproof, and warm (and the fit is very good). I haven't had them in heavy rain yet, but I am very optimistic! The only things I would change are the zipper (I prefer a front zipper as they are easier and quicker to get in and out of) and I would add a pocket on the leg. The front pocket is designed well but inaccessible with a jacket or two over top, and I need to have easy pocket access while working. I'm 5'3" and 130 lbs and the small fit me, leaving some room for layers underneath."

Very Well Made & Comfortable!
"Very durable material, yet comfortable design. These bibs are going to get a lot of use, especially during the spring/fall seasons when it's cooler out."

Love these bibs!
"I’m 5’8”, 135 lbs and the medium fit perfectly, with enough room for layers. Most sailing bibs for women are comically baggy, but the Taku bibs have a nice women’s cut so you know you look good.
I used to wear Musto BR2 bibs, but after racing in the Mustang Survival Taku bibs a dozen times in all sorts of weather including side ways rain, I’m an official convert! Here are the differences and why I prefer the Taku bibs:
- They have a better female specific cut so they are not overly baggy
- The long side zipper actually stays zipped up! The side zippers of the musto’s would gradually unzip within 30 minutes of wear so I had to constantly rezip them during races
- the kangaroo pocket with fleece lining is placed at tummy level (the musto pocket is at chest level and i couldn’t get my hands in when wearing a PFD)
I’ve worn these bibs for buoy and long distance races, double handing, in 20+ knots of breeze and sideways rain, and I stayed dry and warm. They are wind proof and waterproof and I highly recommend the Taku bibs."

Lack of customer service
"Purchased the Taku bibs. Very nice product, quality materials, quality construction. Comfortable, and good looking. I was super pleased with the purchase, except the size was incorrect and needed to be exchanged for a smaller size."
