"Nice salopette. Waterproof, with good movement. Legs are a little wide in comparison to the top. The shoulder adjustments are a little clunky and not velcro, so adjustment is limited to three adjustment points. Overall runs large."
"I’ve been using the Mustang Survival Meris Salopettes alongside the jacket and they’ve been just as impressive. They’re clearly designed for proper offshore sailing and perform really well in tough conditions. The waterproofing is excellent. The two-way YKK Aquaseal zip is fully waterproof and keeps bulk down, which makes them much more comfortable to move around in. Even in heavy spray and rough weather, they keep you properly dry. My favourite feature has to be the knee pads. They’re lightweight and removable but make a massive difference when you’re moving around on deck or kneeling to do jobs – especially on longer days where you’re constantly shifting about. They’re also really adjustable, with good fit options at the waist, knees and hem, so you can dial them in depending on layers and boots. The overall fit is comfortable and not restrictive, which is ideal when you’re active on the boat. There’s plenty of practical storage too, including thigh pockets with a clear window, a chest pocket, and attachment points for tools, which is really useful when sailing or working onboard. The only slight downside I’ve found is that the shoulder clip-ins can be a bit fiddly and hard to use at times, especially with cold hands. It’s not a dealbreaker, but something that could be improved. Overall though, I’m really happy with these salopettes. They’re tough, comfortable, and packed with features that actually make a difference when you’re out sailing. Definitely a solid bit of offshore kit."
"Great waterproof product. Great warmth. Love the padding in the legs."
"Meris salopettes. Having for the last forty years been given waterproofs it unfortunately, for me, came to be that I would have to buy some salopettes. Have hankered after a pair of these for a few years now. Finally decided to make the purchase and couldn’t be happier. Comfortable to wear, they keep me dry and have been much admired."
"I absolutely loved your salopettes—the quality and design are excellent. Unfortunately, I had to return mine because the Small size was still too large for me. I strongly encourage you to consider offering XS and XXS sizes. There’s a significant market of smaller sailors, and many of us struggle to find gear that fits properly. Most sailing apparel on the market tends to run large, and having more inclusive sizing options would really help meet the needs of a wider range of customers. Thank you for considering this feedback—I hope to be able to purchase from you again in the future!"
"I needed something I could quickly put on over street clothes and this seemed a good choice"
"The new (2025) Meris Waterproof Jacket and Meris Waterproof Salopette are a great combination. The size large (L) is a comfortable fit with heavy layering underneath. I am 5’11’’ and 210lb. The four pockets on the jacket are all accessible while wearing my EP 38 vest. With a larger life jacket style vest the two lower pockets remain accessible. The hood and collar fit comfortably and the side view windows on the hood are great to allow for peripheral vision. The two thigh pockets on Salopette have ample room for a spare toque, cell phone and dry gloves without hampering movement. The knee pads are positioned well. I purchased the duo for sail boat racing, but as a Marine Search and Rescue volunteer, I will use this gear for the inclement winter call outs we get here on the British Columbia Coast. I put the gear through its paces while out for a full day of SAR training during in a recent atmospheric river. I was very impressed with the performance, I finished the day, dry, warm and happy. Good job Mustang!"
