Description
Beyond helping marine adventurers live beyond land, here at Mustang Survival we do our best to focus on keeping waters safe and clean; supporting initiatives and acts to restore waterways that are lifelines to communities, livelihoods and recreation.
From March 19 - 22, 2020, proceeds from the sales of the Mustang Survival Waterlife Water bottle will go towards building the Waterlife Fund; an initiative that supports local BC action-oriented projects that take specific steps toward ecosystem restoration and/or the collection of data for long-term monitoring initiatives in salt and freshwater habitats.
The 2020 recipient is The Stqeeye’ Learning Society (pronounced STAH-KAY-AH), located in Xwaaqw’um (Burgoyne Bay), on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia.
The Stqeeye’ Learning Society, is a majority Quw’utsun (Cowichan) run non-profit, working collaboratively with Cowichan Tribes, BC Parks, the BC Wildlife Federation and the wider Salt Spring Island community to re-establish vital ecosystems that will support vibrant populations of fish, and a diversity of riparian and wetland plant species. The money will be going to support the Xwaaqw’um Village Salmon & Stream Restoration Project.
Help activate change in our local waterways; bring a waterbottle home to celebrate World Water Day, and the sustainable future for the source of so much life and adventure.
